Hay fever is a very common allergic reaction to pollen from grass, trees and weeds. Symptoms include sneezing, a runny or blocked nose, itchy and watery eyes, itchy mouth and throat, headaches, tiredness and it can also worsen asthma.
In fact, hay fever symptoms can often become so severe that it negatively affects both sleep and concentration, so it's important that living and work spaces are as comfortable as possible to help relieve sufferers.

Being at home this spring and summer (peak hay fever season) hasn't stopped symptoms either as pollen easily gets into the house through clothing or open windows. Well, what about closing your windows? You see, we don't want that to be the only choice for those who suffer. We've created our Pollergen® window blinds to help alleviate symptoms so your windows can stay open.
So, How Does Pollergen® Work?
Hay fever sufferers can benefit from our anti-allergen fabric treatment, Pollergen®, which acts as a barrier against pollen entering the room as the active ingredient in the window blind fabric captures and then neutralises the pollen.

We've collected some key tips from Allergy UK and Breathing Matters for some extra essential steps.
SHOWER AND WASH YOU HAIR
An immediate shower can work wonders! Wash your hair and change your clothing after arriving home on high pollen days.
PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME
Make a habit of checking the daily pollen count with the Met Office (metoffice.gov.uk) weather map which forecasts the UK pollen count so you can be prepared.
KEEP WINDOWS CLOSED
If you can help it, keep windows closed to create a firm barrier.
☆ TOP TIP: Pollen count is higher at night! Try to keep your windows closed during the evening.
APPLY AN EFFECTIVE BARRIER
Vaseline or balm around the edge of each nostril can trap or block pollergens to help prevent an initial reaction.
AVOID DRYING CLOTHES OUTSIDE
Especially on high pollen days. If you must, shake them before bringing them indoors.
GROOM AND WASH PETS REGULARLY
Pollen from the outside can often stick to their coats and transfer around the home.
KEEP CAR WINDOWS SHUT
Or, fit a pollen filter to reduce the impact of pollen spores and ensure the air conditioning is set to recirculate the air inside.
