What are Venetian blinds?
Venetian blinds are window coverings made from horizontal slats, that sit one above the other. The blinds are held by cord or fabric tape and can be made of wood, aluminium, or plastic. The design of Venetian blinds make it easy to rotate the slats by almost 180° so you can adjust the amount of light entering the room.
This makes it possible to rotate the slats in unison. These window blinds tilt by up to 180 degrees, giving variable control over the privacy of your space and the light that enters it.
These blinds have existed for centuries and although they’re named Venetian blinds, the style actually originated in Persia. The blinds were brought from the Middle East to Venice by a Venetian merchant in the 18th century, and the name stuck.

How do Venetian blinds work?
Venetian Blinds operate via tiny holes that are punched into every slat. Through each hole runs cords or tape from the headrail to the bottom rail. They connect to a top tilt mechanism, which allows you to turn the Venetian slats clockwise or anti-clockwise in the angle you desire. Simply twist the tilt wand clockwise or anti-clockwise to rotate the Venetian slats to your preferred position.
Twisting the slats up provides complete privacy, while twisting them down allows the maximum amount of light through. Venetian blinds also have a cord lock mechanism, hidden in the headrail of the blind so you can lock the blind into place, at whatever height you prefer. slats in place.
