When did you start working at the company?

When I graduated from university with a degree in business and foreign languages, my aim was clear: I wanted a career where I could put my linguistic skills to good use. Little did I know that this decision would lead me on an incredible journey with Louvolite spanning 23 years!

My journey began as a maternity cover, what drew me to Louvolite initially was their need for someone fluent in Spanish. As the maternity cover concluded, the role transitioned into a permanent one, marking the beginning of my rewarding career within the company.

How far have you come since you started?

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of ascending the ranks, first as Export Manager and later as the head of the Customer Services team. Witnessing the growth of my team of two to a formidable group of 14 talented women has been nothing short of inspiring. Their dedication to ensuring our customers receive the best possible service is truly commendable and underscores the essence of our company’s values.

I've also attended numerous Louvolite Exhibition Shows. These take place throughout the year and in multiple countries, I first started going to the shows a good 15 years ago. R&T Stuttgart is a great opportunity to meet our export customers and build on the relationships that we have with them. It’s also a good opportunity for me to use my language skills. I honestly really enjoy going to the shows, it’s tiring but is good fun as we really get on well as a team.

What progress have you seen for women in the industry?

As I look back on my journey, I can’t help but acknowledge the positive changes I’ve witnessed in the industry, particularly in terms of opportunities for women. While progress has been made, there’s still lots of room for growth.

We’re eager to see more women join our Sales team, bringing diversity and fresh perspectives to the forefront. Nevertheless, it’s heartening to see the increasing number of women taking charge of key accounts, a testament to their capability and potential in leadership roles.

"Never hesitate to seize the opportunities that come your way"

Lastly, what advice would you give to women who are just starting out?

I firmly believe in the power of hard work and seizing every opportunity that comes your way. I've been able to achieve my goals and surpass my own expectations. And while the path hasn't always been easy, each obstacle has only served to strengthen my resolve and fuel my determination.

So my advice to anyone aspiring to success would be this: work hard, stay resilient, and never hesitate to seize the opportunities that come your way.
